These issues often relate to improving population health\, access and coverage through Medicaid and other programs\, improving value\, addressing consumer issues and workforce shortages\, and more. Learning these issues and being involved in policy and organizational responses is important for healthcare leaders\, regardless of how directly they may be involved. \nModerator: Guy Cayo\, MHSA\, CLSSGB\, FACHE Chief Executive Officer UT Health Pittsburg & Quitman\nPanelist: Scott Avery Chief Operating Officer Paris Regional Health\nPanelist: Loren Robinson\, MD Chief Medical Officer CHRISTUS Health St. Michael\nPanelist: Rob Terry Jr.\, MSN\, RN\, CEN\, CFRN \nSpeakers’ Bios: \nScott Avery: From Military Service to Healthcare Executive Leadership \nScott Avery’s journey from the U.S. Army to Chief Operating Officer of Paris Regional Health highlights his versatile leadership and commitment to service. Born in Seattle\, Washington\, Scott earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington before embarking on a nearly 30-year military career. As an Aeromedical Evacuation Pilot and later a UH-60 Blackhawk Test Pilot\, he demonstrated precision\, courage\, and adaptability. \nHis leadership skills flourished during his 12 years in hospital administration within Army hospitals\, where he took on increasingly challenging roles. Scott’s five deployments to Iraq underscored his resilience and dedication to serving others. As CEO of Martin Army Community Hospital\, he led the delivery of healthcare to military personnel and their families. \nIn 2017\, Scott transitioned to civilian healthcare\, becoming COO at Paris Regional Health. His leadership brought innovation and a commitment to patient care\, serving on various community boards and embodying the hospital’s mission. He also briefly served as Interim CEO of Willamette Valley Medical Center in Oregon\, and served five months as the interim CEO of Paris Regional Health in Paris\, Texas. \nOutside of work\, Scott enjoys golf\, boating\, fishing\, and flying\, and values time with his family. With two master’s degrees in military studies and strategic leadership\, Scott’s journey reflects his dedication to service and excellence. \nGuy B. Cayo brings over 17 years of dedicated healthcare experience to his community. His leadership has consistently driven improvements in health and quality of life\, complemented by his commitment to volunteerism and philanthropy. \nIn March 2021\, Guy took on the role of Chief Executive Officer at UT Health Pittsburg within the UT Health East Texas Health System. His responsibilities expanded in January 2025 to include UT Health Quitman\, along with overseeing multiple clinics in the surrounding areas\, including the Behavioral Health Center (outpatient) in downtown Pittsburg. \nGuy is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.\, a proud veteran\, and a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He currently serves as President of the ACHE East Texas Forum and has previously held the position of President at the Pittsburg Rotary Club. Additionally\, he is a board member of Workforce Solutions East Texas. \nBeyond his professional achievements\, Guy treasures his role as a father to his son\, whom he considers his most humbling gift and responsibility. His hobbies reflect his adventurous spirit and include scuba diving\, archery\, swimming\, learning to DJ\, and hiking. Guy’s faith is central to his life\, and he attributes his success to God’s grace and favor. \nLoren Robinson\, MD\, MSHP is the Chief Medical Officer and Vice President for Medical Affairs at CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System in Texarkana\, Texas where she is responsible for the hospital’s quality and safety efforts\, as well as physician recruitment. Dr. Robinson is passionate about health equity and strongly believes in a multidisciplinary approach to improving and promoting health equity. A proud HBCU alumna of Spelman College\, Dr. Robinson currently serves on the Spelman College Board of Trustees and obtained her medical degree from Duke University. Dr. Robinson completed her residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed her fellowship in health policy research at the University of Pennsylvania. She is married to her medical school sweetheart\, Dr. Ermias Abebe\, and is the proud mother of 3 boys. \n\n\n  \nRob A. Terry Jr. a native to Northeast Texas developed an early interest in healthcare and the well-being of others\, which led him to pursue a career in nursing. Rob earned both a Bachelor (BSN) and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from the University of Texas at Tyler. While his formal training has been crucial\, Rob also embraced ongoing learning to advance his clinical expertise and leadership in nursing. \nWith over 17 years of experience in healthcare\, Rob has held numerous key positions throughout his career. He began his nursing career as an Emergency Nurse\, providing direct care to critically ill and injured patients in fast-paced emergency room settings. His passion for emergency care and adrenaline led him to serve as an Air 1 Flight Nurse\, and Trauma/Stroke Program Manager. Beyond his clinical work\, Rob is deeply invested in the education and mentorship of new nurses. As a Nursing Instructor\, he has guided countless students\, helping them navigate the complexities of the nursing profession. Building on his diverse experience\, Rob advanced into the role of Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)\, where he oversaw nursing operations and led efforts to improve patient care and staff performance. His ability to foster a collaborative and efficient team earned him the prestigious honor of being named Ardent’s Chief Nursing Officer of the Year. Rob is an active member in American Nurses Association\, Emergency Nurses Association\, and Texas Nurses Association. \nOutside of the hospital\, Rob enjoys big game hunting and adventures across the United States. He currently holds hunting licenses in four states and two countries. Despite his busy professional life\, Rob cherishes time spent with his family\, always prioritizing family activities. \n  \nRegister Here\n
