SUMMARY:Networking and Educational Event\, Successfully Leading Change in Healthcare
DESCRIPTION:The educational portion of this event has been approved for 1.5 ACHE In Person Education Credits! \nPlease join the ACHE of East Texas chapter for the 4th annual networking event hosted by the University of Texas at Tyler Executive MBA Healthcare Management Program. This year\, once again this event includes an ACHE approved 1.5 hour in-person educational event following the complimentary networking evening. The education panel topic is “Successfully Leading Change in Healthcare Organizations.” Both events require registration. Participants are welcome to attend one or both segments of the event. Please check in at the front table to receive your name badge for the networking hour and to ensure you receive appropriate credit for your attendance during the educational panel session. \n\n\nThe healthcare environment is constantly changing\, and provider organizations must adapt in order to survive and thrive. Organizations are frequently asked to respond to legislative changes\, market fluctuations\, safety concerns\, and patient or staff demands. The success of major change implementation hinges on how it communicated and how it impacts individuals and processes in the organization. Stakeholders frequently resist change for many reasons\, including not having enough information\, fear of how the change will affect them\, comfort with the status quo\, and not understanding the benefits of the change. For change to truly be effective\, a leader must know how to effectively communicate the benefits\, minimize the barriers\, and describe the processes. Learn from your peers as they share approaches that were successful and those that impeded the change process. \n5:30 pm (networking 4th annual event)\n6:30pm-8:00pm (education panel) \n  \nModerator: \nDawn Johnston\, FACHE\nAdministrative Director of Nursing/Clinical Services\nCHRISTUS Flight For Life \nPanelists: \nPaula E. SUMMARY:The Role of Data and Advanced Analytics in Transforming Healthcare
DESCRIPTION:This panel has been approved for 1.50 ACHE Virtual Interactive Education Credits. \n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRoutine doctor’s visits are beginning to be replaced by regularly monitoring one’s health status and remote consultations. The inpatient setting is being improved by more sophisticated quality metrics drawn from an ecosystem of interconnected digital health tools. The care patients receive can be decided in consultation with decision support software that is informed not only by expert judgments but also by algorithms that draw on information from patients around the world\, some of whom will differ from the “typical” patient. However\, recent developments in data analytics also suggest barriers to change that might be more substantial in the health care field than in other parts of the economy. Despite the immense promise of health analytics\, the industry lags other major sectors in taking advantage of cutting-edge tools. Most health care organizations\, for example\, have yet to devise a clear approach for integrating data analytics into their regular operations. This program will focus on the role that data and advanced analytics play today and the potential role they will play in the future to impact operations\, patient care\, quality\, safety\, engagement & wellness\, and healthcare costs. Attendees will learn the type of data and analytics that are in use today at health systems\, lessons healthcare can learn from other industries\, the challenges health systems face in integrating vast amounts of disparate data in real time and how to make the insights useful to the right people at the right time. The panel will also discuss how to optimize existing data and analytics initiatives at their organization. \nModerator: \nNick Kagal\, FACHE\, FHIMSS\nHX Client Success Manager\nPress Ganey \nPanelists: \nColleen Cotton\nAVP\, Corporate Decision Support\nArdent Health Services \nDavid Gano\, MSOD\nExecutive Director of Performance Improvement\nCHRISTUS Trinity Clinic \nErnie Hackney\nAVP\, Financial Operations and Decision Support\nUT Health East Texas \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \nRegister Here\n  \nSpeakers’ Bios: \n  \nColleen Cotton has 10 years of healthcare experience ranging from Managed Care and Payor Analytics and hospital decision support. SUMMARY:Strategic Marketing Winning the Battle for Markets and Share
DESCRIPTION:This event has been approved for 1.5 ACHE Virtual Interactive Education credits\nDate: Friday\, August 30\nTime: 12-1:30pm \n\n\nIn today’s competitive healthcare marketplace\, a strategy for offering your products and services in a way that will outdistance your competitors\, and emerging disruptors\, is critical. However\, in concert with defining the marketing strategy you must also have a well-defined methodology for implementation that contains a relevant and consistent message. Further\, it is of little value to have a strategy and a message without the resources or the expertise to implement them. A well-conceived marketing plan that is in concert with your strategic plan and the time and resources to put it in motion are the necessary elements to increase market share and support financial success. Of those many factors\, some are more important than others. Because each strategy must address some unique considerations\, it is not reasonable to identify ‘every’ important factor at a generic level. However\, many are common to all marketing strategies.
